During the 3rd Quarter of each year,

normally take place in July or August, depending on schedule. Sample of
Some Previous Meetings - Previous Meeting held in July 2003:
One of the most noteworthy Field Trips organized
by SBOC, was the one held in July of 2003 -
The July 2003 Meeting was held in Bolingbrook at the Heritage Knolls
subdivision where pre-cast model homes were being erected. One of the
homes is completed and two are currently under construction. The members
were invited to go through the buildings in order to learn more about
this new and popular construction method. During a previous meeting at
the Dukane plant the members were provided an opportunity to see the
fabrication of the pre-cast panels from the design to the finished
stage. Being able to come to the actual site allows code officials to
see how the panels are actually placed and how they are used in
different stages of construction.
This is the second time members have had the opportunity to visit this
particular area. The last time the completed home was the only one that
could be observed. Since the other two are in different phases of
construction it was thought that this would be a good learning tool for
our members to familiarize themselves with this type of construction.
The members thought the tours were very enlightening and educational.
