FLEET MAINTENANCE MANAGER

 

Galesburg Transit, the operator of the City of Galesburg fixed route public transportation system, is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager.

 

Education:  Candidates should have at least a college or trade school certificate in automotive or diesel technology, ASE certification is a plus, computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and vehicle diagnosis, a Class B CDL with at least 2 years driving experience and clean MVR.

 

Job Description:  The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to insuring a fleet of 8 vehicles (3 Gillig 29’, 3 Blue Bird 35’, 2 raised roof vans) in operational repair, will manage employees, will assist in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing fleet vehicles in accordance with the written maintenance policy, will maintain a good relationship with vendors, will order parts and supplies, will maintain a parts inventory and vehicle maintenance records, assist in maintaining shop equipment.  Should have good people skills, be able to work independently, and be dependable, trustworthy, and a team player.  Should have own tools appropriate to the maintenance of heavy duty diesel vehicles.
